Bio:
Dr. Janice L. Franklin is a retired professor of humanities and music for Dallas College. She is also currently an adjunct professor for Southern New Hampshire University. She holds a Ph.D. in Humanities–Aesthetic Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas, and her Bachelor of Music and M.A. in Music from Stephen F. Austin State University. Her doctoral work was interdisciplinary, connecting history, the arts and literature, and technology.
Dr. Franklin’s diverse career has included years as a professional musician working primarily as in musical theatre in Texas and New York, and 20 years in the corporate sector. She is a member of the American Theatre Critics Association.
Her diverse interdisciplinary academic and experiential preparation was essential to helping students fill in the cavernous spaces in their knowledge of their ancestors’ roles in the story of the United States of America.
